Vintage Design

My passion for Design.

Hello and welcome to the website. A bit of an explainer as to why along with my Jewelry, Sculpture and Lighting I have also included Vintage Design. For 25 plus years I have been a collector of things. It actually started because of my search for quality and interesting found objects to use in my Jewelry and Sculpture work way back in Undergraduate school. Flea markets, thrift stores, consignment shops and sites like eBay became my go tos for “things”.

I fell in love with the HUNT and found that not only could I find objects to use in my work but also to use in my home. It started to become another job as I learned more and more about design and realized that I could actually make this into a financial opportunity. To be completely honest I would say that 95%+ of what I live with I found in second hand markets.

I taught myself a lot about design over the years. I have set up and picked at large Markets such as Brimfield in Massachusetts and Renningers in Pennsylvania. I became a “picker” and have also had booths in Antique malls selling my wares. Picking is retail therapy! My tastes have developed and today I specialize in American and European design objects and art.  I buy and sell furniture, silver, ceramics, glass, kitchen items, vintage clothing, industrial, folk art and almost anything that my eye tells me to. Modernism and Scandinavian design are areas are my Jam.

I have made plenty of “mistakes” in my picking but they do not compare to my successes. Making, finding, appreciating and educating oneself about the design world is a passion that I hope to share with you all here on this site. Feel free to ask questions and also remember that I am always “buying” good design. I am hopeful to beef up this part of my work and am quite interested in Interior Design and perhaps that is something that will develop here.

Be Well, and happy pickin!
