All items are completely handmade by me in my studio here in Oley PA. I try my best to use recycled materials when possible. Metal is a reactive material and depending on the climate and atmosphere where you live can react and change color. Most jewelry items can be easily cleaned with dish soap, water and a toothbrush. I would recommend staying away from “silver polish” items. I find wearing my bracelets and some of my rings in the shower is a good way to keep them sparkling clean.
When ordering rings, it is important to get you size correct and if you don’t have a local jeweler with a ring sizer, I would be happy to advise you on sizing. If by chance you get the size wrong and the ring is too small, I can stretch the ring to make it fit properly at no charge, you just have to send it to me and pay for return postage. (most rings) If you got the size wrong and the ring is too big there will be a minor charge to downsize as that means I will have to “cut” out a chunk to make it smaller.
Bracelet size is listed in the shop and some of the bracelets are adjustable to fit multiple size wrists. If you have a special request size wise, I am happy to accommodate you. Most of the bangle style bracelets can be adjusted gently to fit your wrist.
Necklaces will have the total length in the listing and most of them can be worn at different lengths.
Sculpture items are usually one of a kind and sometimes limited series. I can make similar pieces from past images but as you know the work is handmade so there will be minor differences.
Lighting pieces are made on commission after discussion and have been some of my favorite projects. If you are remodeling a home or just need a special light source for your bedside table etc. I would be happy to discuss and can also share more images from past projects. I have made fixtures for private homes, restaurants, spas, entertainment rooms plus others and really enjoy the process.
All of my work is guaranteed not including wear and tear from years and years of use. I would be happy to “refurbish” pieces that have come from my studio and depending on the circumstances there may be a charge. I can also advise you how you can do it yourself. Over the year’s customers have lost a single earring or two and the easiest way for me to make a matching pair is to make a whole new pair. There are circumstances however where it is easy enough to make a single match too. Either way I would ask that you just contact me to discuss the best option.
Commissioned work is always something I look forward to and please feel free to either contact me via the contact form or give me a ring!
It is worth mentioning that I welcome helping you find that elusive vintage object for your home. Some of my vintage offering will be on this website, some will be listed on eBay and some are here with me in my storage area. If you have “things” that you are looking for feel free to send me images and I will get back to you ASAP. I collect many items, mostly 20th Century design from the USA and Europe. One other thing to mention is that I am also buying, so if you have items that fit my eye and are looking to sell, feel free to contact me.
Lastly, I am always interested in new teaching opportunities. Right now, in this time of the Pandemic most of that has been on hold. I look forward to the other side and any institutions that have interest in exploring what I have to offer again shoot me an email or give me a call. I can send sample course proposals, past experience or create a whole new class based on something that I have made or done in the past.
Be Well,
David
